Chapter Eight-Wherein Anna Gets Grounded For Eternity And I Get Sent To Grandma's House

The moment Tegan’s dad dropped me, Katie, and Anna off I knew I was in trouble. Tegan’s dad had picked us up ‘cause my mom was working and Dave was paying taxes. When we walked in, Dave shouted “Annabelle Mariana Wilkins and Kieyra Mary Lynn Gordon, you two are SO grounded!” He sounded stern. Like, really stern. “For how long?” Anna asked.
“Eternity!”
“Okay...now what’d I do?”
“Come. Here.” We found Dave in the living room. Charlie the guinea pig lay covered in blood and dead in his cage. Dave was gripping angrily onto a piece of paper.
“This...” he started, “This is why you’re grounded.” He handed us the paper to read.

Dear Little Davey,
Did you like my little artwork with the guinea pig? Betcha thought I was locked up, didn’t you? I hear you got yourself a little girlfriend. Over Izzy yet? I doubt it. Well, anyways, you can thank your precious little Annabelle and my pretty little doppelganger for my release. Silly little girl, that Anna is... Speaking of, I’d like to speak to Kieyra sometime soon. You could give her that message, couldn’t you?
Love,
Katerina Petrova

“It wasn’t my fault! Kieyra made me do it!” Anna pointed to me accusingly.
“Okay, that is NOT true.” Anna looked at me, as if to say “what the hell are you talking about!”
“Okay, maybe it is a little bit true.”
“She negotiated with me.” Anna explained.
“You can’t ground me.” I said in a smart-aleckey tone.
“Oh? And why not?”
“Because,” I chuckled, “What’re you gonna tell my mom when she asks WHY I’m grounded? Yes, Janette, I grounded your daughter because she let the woman responsible for my wife’s death out of a tomb and dragged my daughter into it? Oh, and by the way, we’re all vampires.”I smirked. Dave looked at me, then the floor, then the ceiling, then back to me again and sighed.
“Fine. You’re officially un-grounded.” he grumbled. I happily skipped off to my room.

Later that night, at dinner, I was playing video games with Nathen and Katie. Anna would have been playing too, except she was still mad at me for “freaking using” her. Her words, not mine. It was all silent until the phone rang. My mom ran to get the phone.
“Hello? Who? Yes, she’s here. Why? Okay, I’ll give her the phone. Kieyra, it’s for you!”
“Who is it?” I asked. My mom put the phone back to her ear.
“Who is this?” there was a female voice on the phone, and then “Kat, from school,” she said, “She says you two are working on a project together.”
“Oh. Right.” I said, as if I knew what the heck she was talking about. I took the phone from her.
“Hello?”
“Did you get my little message?” One word. Katherine.

“Yeah, um, I did do some of the work on the project. I’m actually gonna go upstairs and read it to you.” I said, loud enough so Dave and Mom could hear. I ran upstairs into my bedroom and turned on the water in the bathroom.
“Nice cover.”
“What do you want, Katherine?”
“I need you to sneak out tonight, meet me at the park across town from your house with the tire swing at midnight. Don’t tell anybody where you’re going or who you’re meeting.”
“And if I don’t come?”
“Then you’ll suffer the consequences. Goodbye, Kieyra.” There was a click and then a dial tone.

It was exactly 11:47 PM and I was ready to go. The only problem was, Dave was pacing outside me and Anna’s doors, and the only window that I could get through and climb out of without landing on something hard and making noise was Nathen’s. The only problem was that Nathen’s room was on the other side of the house, which means I would have to get past Mom and Dave first. Then it hit me. I walked out of my room and started walking to Nathen’s room. “Where are you going?” Dave stopped me.
“Nathen’s room. It’s hot in mine and he has the best air conditioning in the house. Is there any other reason to go into Nate’s room? Dave, come on. If I was gonna escape I would have done so already. My room does have windows, you know.”
“Fine.” He let me past. Once I was in Nathen’s room, I changed into my skinny jeans and long sleeved shirt, put on my high-tops and started silently opening the window. Nathen started to wake up. “Kieyra?” he asked sleepily.
“Shh! It’s a dream, you’re dreaming.” I reassured. Nathen nodded and went back to sleep. Then I made my escape.

“You’re late.” Katherine said. I checked my phone. 12:03 PM.
“My brother almost caught me.”
“I was starting to think you wouldn’t show.” I smiled.
“I’m not scared of you, Katherine.”
“You should be. Anyways, I need you to keep this safe for me.” She handed me a smooth blue rock. I turned it around in my hand a few times.
“What is this?”
“Lapis lazuli, the one Damien needs to break the curse.” I put it in my pocket.
“And you’re giving this to me why?”
“Cause Damien thinks I have it and it’ll throw him off guard.” she said. It was hard to notice in the dark, but Katherine had changed from her filthy dress into a black leather jacket and tight skinny jeans. She had showered for the first time in a VERY long time, and her hair was now even MORE perfectly curly, if that was possible. She was only about an inch and a half taller than me (I'm 5 foot 5). We could pass for sisters. Hell, we could pass for twins. She noticed my constant stare and smiled. “This whole doppelganger thing fascinates you, doesn’t it?”
“Just a little.” I admitted.
“You better go. Besides, I have somewhere to be.” then she disappeared. I went back home and crawled up to Nathen’s room. And then, it all went downhill.

“Well, well, well, look what we have here.” My mom stood with Dave and Nathen in front of the window.
“Um...hi mom. Hi Dave. Hi Nate.” Mom rolled her eyes.
“Where were you? Out “chillin with your peeps”?” I sighed.
“No, mom. I went to go help my friend, the one who called me, with the project. She texted me, and it was late, so I left. I’m sorry mom.” I lied.
“Well, it was for school purposes...you’re not grounded. Yet.” My mom left the room. I left to go to my room, but Dave followed me. “Cut the crap, where were you really?” he asked.
“What in hell makes you think I’m gonna tell you?” he pinned me up against the wall by my neck.
“I. Can’t. Tell. You.” I said, struggling to break free of his grasp.
“And why not?”
“Because I’m a good friend.” He let me go and I went to bed.

The next morning, my mom knocked on my door at seven AM, even though it was a Saturday. “Go away.” I groaned, pulling my pillow over my head. “I just talked to Grandma. I’ve arranged for you to go to her house for a couple of weeks. Maybe it’ll help you to get away from all the stress that this new life is causing you.” Mom’s been going on about this stress thing ever since we moved in with Dave. It’s quite frankly very annoying.
“Moooooooooom!” I whined.
“Don’t you mom me. You’re going and that’s final.”

It’s not that I have anything against my grandparents. Really, I love them. It’s just that for a few years now my Great Aunt Harriet has been living there, and she, like, hates me. Every time I come over she says something mean to me and then goes on about some prophecy/devil nonsense that no one understands. It’s getting worse with age.

Worst. Punishment. Ever.

Whoa...

I just saw a video on youtube depicting what a relationship between Stefan Salvatore (character on vampire diaries) and a cactus would be like.... TEAM STACTUS!!!!!!!! lol!!!!

Chapter Seven-Wherein I Make A Big Mistake

“Are you out of your freaking mind! No. No, no, no. No! I refuse to help you. This is a stupid idea.” Anna hurried to catch up to me as I ‘power walked’ back to the campsite.
“It’s not a stupid idea. She’s been locked up in a tomb for three hundred years. It’s the least I can do for her.”
“Which bumps it up to a HELL NO.”
“Fine then. I’ll get Katie to help. Or Sarah...I’m sure she’d love to do it.” Out of all the Wilkins sisters, Sarah is the most naive and oblivious one. Even though she’s a vampire/witch, she pretty much focuses on just being, well, seventeen. She’s kind of an air head.
“No, Kieyra, you don’t understand. Katherine killed my mom. Well, not really, but she was responsible for it.” I stopped.
“Explain.”
“My mom, Isobel, put the curse on Damien’s people, right? Well, after that, Damien was really mad. He tried to get my mom to undo the spell, but she refused and he killed her, and forced me, Katie, Sarah and my dad to watch. It was excruciating.”
“But Katherine was best friends-”
“Katherine knew my mom was dead. She knew Damien was gonna kill her. She didn’t care, Kieyra. She didn’t care.” I thought about it for a minute. Why would I want to free Katherine? Because freeing her will get you on her good side, I reminded myself.
“Pllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?”
“No.”
“Pretty pretty please?”
“No.”
“Pretty please with a cherry on top?”
“No.”
“I’ll be your best friend!”
“No!”
“I’ll give you my allowance for a month.”
“Are you negotiating with me?”
“...Yes.”
“Keep talking.”
“And I’ll do your chores for a month.”
“Two months, and you’ll clean Charlie’s cage.” Charlie was our pet guinea pig who...well... went to the bathroom a lot.
“Ugh, fine.”

After we got back to the campsite, Tegan ran up to me. “Where have you been? I haven’t seen you since this morning!”
“In the tomb.” I kept walking to my tent.
“Why were you in the tomb?”
“I was talking to Katherine.”
“Why the hell were you talking to Katherine?”
“And this is your business because...”
“Because we’re best friends!” she shouted. I sighed.
“I needed answers.”

“I’m telling you, this idea is stupid!” Anna said, coming up to me.
“Anna, not now.”
“What idea?” Tegan asked.
“We’re gonna free Katherine.” Anna said.
“You’re gonna WHAT?”
“Let me explain.” Tegan turned back to me.
“...We’re gonna free Katherine.”
“What! Why???”
“Exactly my point.” Anna said, throwing her hands up in the air. I rolled my eyes.
“Look, I have my reasons.” I said.
“Fine, whatever, do what you gotta do.” Tegan said.

The next day, around 5 AM, me and Anna left the campsite to go to the tomb. “I still don’t get why we’re doing this.” Anna said. “Because, I’m being a good person and doing her a favor.” Anna rolled her eyes.

“Katherine...” I called, looking into the tomb. Anna was sitting on the stone floor saying nonsense words-or as she said, the spell that lifted the seal. Katherine staggered out from the shadows. “ ‘Ello Kieyra. Annabelle.” She said weakly, leaning against the dirt covered wall. I gave her a bottle of blood from Anna’s bag. “What’s she doing?” Katherine asked, after she was done drinking the blood. Anna got up and came over to me. “It’s done.” she said.
“The spell has been lifted. You’re free to leave.” I said, backing up from the doorway. Katherine walked out. “Thank you, Kieyra.” She turned to Anna, chuckled, and shook your head. She looked at both of us and smiled. “You girls have no idea what you just did.” She waved and disappeared. Anna groaned. “What did we do?”
“I think we just made a really big mistake.” Anna banged her head against the wall. Tegan came down the hallway. “Mrs. Stewart’s back.” she said. We all ran back to the site. Mrs. Stewart stood in front of a crowd with ripped clothes and knotted hair, holding her “Twilight” book. “You have no freaking idea what I’ve been through.” Mrs. Stewart said, brushing some dirt off of her grass stained pants. We heard sirens. Monica, and Hannah x2 ran towards Mrs. Stewart. “We found cell phone signal! Hannah W. dialed 911 and the police are coming!” Monica squealed. “Over here!” Everyone started screaming.

After the police found us, they called all of our parents and we all went home. Before that, though, we all got asked what happened to Sylvie French. The universal answer the police got was that she disappeared. Which, in a way, she did disappear. Down a hole. She was probably dead, and no one would know.

And it was all my fault.

Chapter Six- Plan B

A wise man once said, “If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.” Who that man was, I have no idea. All I know is never send a bunch of morons to do a vampire’s job.

“Are you sure about this, Kieyra?” Anna Wilkins, Dave’s daughter, stood beside me. We were on our way to the tomb. I had to talk to Katherine. You see, after the Angry Pickles’ epic failure, I had a plan B. I had to ask Katherine about the whole doppelganger curse, and about Damien and his “minions”.
“Yeah, I’m sure. She’s locked up, she can’t hurt me.” We went down a stone staircase, then followed a long hallway to a narrow doorway. “Katherine?” I called. We heard a noise coming from the other side of the doorway. Shuffle. Shuffle. Crash. Shuffle. Then we saw a shady figure crawling towards us.

Katherine was wearing a very old, dirty, and tattered 18th century dress. Her hair was messy, but perfectly curled and fell halfway down her back. She had deep brown eyes like chocolate. She looked like... an older version of me. “Hello Kieyra.” She smiled, and then looked at Anna. “Hello, Annabelle.”
“Katerina.” Anna replied. Wait- Anna knew Katherine? What??????
“Please, it’s the 21st century. Call me Katherine.” she was still grinning devilishly.
“I’d rather not. That would be disgraceful to my sister.” Katherine turned her attention back to me.
“Hm, you do look like me. It’s almost scary. Almost.” I turned to face Anna. “You can go now. I’ll text you if I need you.” Anna nodded and went back down the hallway. “Brought something for you.” I reached into the bag I brought and pulled out a bottle of blood I stole from Anna’s secret stash. Katherine ran towards the exit and smashed against the invisible barrier that contained her. “Ah ah ah, not so fast.” I pulled out a small plastic cup from my bag. I was having the strangest sense of deja vu- I think this happened in an episode of Vampire Diaries. The main character went to go see her double in a tomb and brought a bottle of blood and a cup and she wanted to know about a curse. Weird, huh?

I know what you’re thinking. Only I would point that out. Okay, maybe it’s true, but that’s not the point.

“First, you tell me how you know Anna. Then, maybe I’ll give you some.” she sighed. “I knew Anna’s mother, Isobel. We were friends, actually. Best friends. She was a witch. Therefore, Anna and her sisters are probably witches.” Katherine shrugged. I poured some blood in the cup and pushed it past the barrier. After she was done drinking, she flicked the cup back to me. “Wow, you really are like me.” she chuckled. “Now, what is it that Damien wants from me?”
“He wants you to sacrifice to break my curse. Such a shame, you have such a pretty face... I rolled my eyes. “Just like mine.” She added. “Yes, except I have nice hair and clean clothes.” she shrugged again. “Three hundred years in a tomb can do that to a person.” I poured more blood and gave it to her. “Good girl.” I mocked.
“Don’t push it.”
“Now, how do I not get killed or sacrificed?”
“Well, you either keep running and escape Damien and wait ‘till all of them turn to dust-which, considering some of their nicer people, and by that I mean cuter, I don’t think you want to do that.”

“And what’s the other way.”
“Also known as your only option? You have to go up to Damien and drive a stake through his heart.”
“Couldn’t I just kill you?” she laughed.
“You do realize that would kill you, right?”
“Oh. Right. Wait, if it hurts me when you get hurt, does that mean that when I get hurt, you can feel it?”
“Yeah. And thanks for all the times you got vervained, by the way.”
“You’re welcome.”I smirked. I heard someone coming down the hallway, and then, “What are you doing here?” I spun around. Alec was standing there, confused. Katherine chuckled. “And this is why you have to kill Damien.” she pointed to Alec. Okay, I guess you could consider Alec somewhat attractive. Ocean blue eyes, Dark hair, perfect face... Yeah, sort of attractive. “What are you doing here?” I asked.
“I’m on Katerina duty. Now, why are you here?”
“I’m here for answers. Not that you ever gave me any. I mean, damn it, are you the good guy or the bad guy? Make up your mind!”
“I only do what I’m told.”
“Well I think it’s time you stopped giving a crap what Damien tells you and stand up for yourself.” With that I stormed out of the tomb.
“How’d it go?” Anna asked. She was standing outside of the tomb. “Fine.” I said angrily.
“I got what I needed. Now let’s go.”
“What’s with you? What are you so pissed about?”
“Nothing.” I lied.
“What did she do?”
“It’s not Katherine who’s got me pissed. She was actually kind of helpful.”
“Yes, of course she would be nice to you. You’re the doppelganger. You die she dies.”
“Yes, and I consider that an asset. I guess that curse wasn’t really thought out very well. If I get sacrificed, Katherine will die.”
“Which is why she wants you to kill Damien.”
“One thousand points to the eavesdropper.”I smiled. She laughed.
“So, Alec...” she started. I rolled my eyes.
“No, it’s totally not like that. Besides, he’s the one I’m mad at. Dude needs to decide which side he’s on.”
“Really? Cause he seems like one of those guys you can’t stay mad at. Like, ever.”
“Oh yeah, watch me.”
“So what are we gonna do next?” Anna asked.
“ ‘We’ meaning...”
“ ‘We’ meaning me and you.” She said.
“Katherine said something about your mom, Isobel, being a witch, and you too.”
“Yeah.”
“Do you know a spell that can seal vampires into a room?”
“Yeah...”
“And do you know how to take that same spell off of a sealed room?”
“Yeah, why?” I smiled.
“We’re gonna free Katherine.”

Chapter Five-EPIC FAILURE

Hey! this chapter's a little shorter than the others but enjoy anyway!! kay bye!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sylvie French opened her eyes. She could feel the blood coming out from a gash in the side of her head. I’m going to die, she thought. She saw two dark figures emerging from the shadows, one boy and one girl. “What do you suppose Damien would want us to do with this one, Ana?” The boy said. He looked young, maybe in his mid-twenties. The girl, Ana, sighed. “Lukas, what did Damien always say?” Lukas sighed. “If they’re gonna die, turn them, then bring them to Damien. If they’re not hurt badly, just bring them to Damien. In all cases, bring outsiders to Damien.” Lukas said. Sylvie groaned. “She’s still alive. You know what that means.” Ana smiled devilishly, putting her pale, slender arm to her lips. She bit down hard, piercing her own skin until it bled, and forced the bloody arm into Sylvie’s mouth. Sylvie squirmed but Lukas held her down firmly until she cooperated. She stopped fighting as she realized her wounds were beginning to heal. Then, as Sylvie began to rise from the ground beneath her, Ana placed her cold hands on Sylvie’s neck and there was a sickening snap as her neck snapped and her body fell limp onto the cold, hard dirt floor of the underground world.
After an hour of chasing squirrels and deer and hunting whatever animals crossed my path, I finally remembered my prior task. I found Tegan and Travis playing games on their iPods near the campsite. “So, about that location.” I leaned up against a tree. “Right. It’s latitude 5.69964- ”
“Travis. Human words.”Travis sighed. The little shrimp of a boy was getting on my nerves. We might as well get this over with as quickly as possible. “Somewhere near the campsite we were supposed to go to. I can map it out for you if you’d like.” Travis suggested. I nodded and walked over to the guys’ tent. Sean, Chris, Ryan, Sam, Matt, and Mark were playing poker with acorns. “Ryan. Mark. Sam. I have a mission for you guys. Come with me.” Ryan, Mark and Sam stood up and exited the tent without asking any questions. “I need you to go talk to Travis about a tomb somewhere near here, After that I’ll need to see if Tegan has any vervain left.”
“What’s the point of this, exactly?” Sam asked.
“It’s complicated. For now I’ll just call it ‘operation doppelganger’. I’ll explain later. Just go find Travis!”
It was a few hours later and Tegan, Sam, Ryan, Mark and I had discussed the plan.
OBSERVATIONS REPORT
a report by Tegan Levi, Sam Dalton, Ryan Masden, Mark Keith, and Kieyra Gordon
At approximately 13:26, Operatives Levi, Dalton, Masden, Keith, and Gordon (Hereafter referred to as “the angry pickles”,as suggested by Operative Dalton) discussed the following mission:
At 13:35, Operatives Dalton, Masden, and Keith would make their way to the location indicated on a map provided by Travis Nixon. Meanwhile, Operatives Gordon and Levi would remain in a secluded area of the woods. Operative Levi had been instructed to tie Operative Gordon firmly to a tree with chains found in the back of the remains of the school bus. This action was performed on account of a)to stop Operative Gordon from wandering and preventing Operative Levi from observing any effects of the following mission, and b) to keep Operative Gordon from doing something about “those killing people feelings”.
Once the Angry Pickles have completed the first task, Operatives Keith, Masden, and Dalton must use the following materials to injure the occupant of the tomb:
- Vervain
- Wood
- Sharpened Pencils
- Rocks
The purpose of this operation is to see if Operative Gordon is connected in any way to the occupant of the tomb, hereafter referred to as “KP”.
“How much longer?” I whined to Tegan. Things get boring when you’re tied up to a tree. Plus, the chains are super uncomfortable. Tegan rolled her eyes. “I don’t know. Sam will call any minute now.” Tegan glanced at the walkie-talkie in her hand. “The Pickles have landed. I repeat, The Pickles have landed. Over.” Sam buzzed on the walkie-talkie. Tegan rolled her eyes. “What mode of torture should we use first?” Sam asked. “Vervain. Over.” Tegan said. The boys had made “Vervain grenades” with the help of Travis. They’re little balls with vervain water in them that explode on contact. Pretty cool, huh?
Not when you’re the one who may or may not feel their wrath.
“The door’s open and we have visual on the subject. Repeat, we have visual. Preparing the Vervain Grenades. Over.” I made a small sound that sounded like a whimper. “Grenades ready. Launch on 5...4...3...2...1" Another second and my face, legs and arms were burning. I screamed. The guys launched another grenade and the pain got worse. “Stop, STOP! Everything you’re doing to her is hurting Kieyra, you’re hurting Kieyra!” the wounds caused by the vervain were healing. The boys had stopped. We heard muffled talking coming from the walkie talkie.
“...dropped the talkie...”
“...before the vampire chick gets it...”
“...went in the tomb...”
“...supposed to get it back now, dipwad!”
There was a new voice on the walkie-talkie now. A girl’s voice. Laughter. Then the guys came in again distantly. “What are you doing with that stick?” I heard Mark ask. More innocent girl laughter and a sharp pain like a knife being dragged across my arm. Words were being spelled out across my arm, like in that Harry Potter movie where the teacher made Harry use the “Special Quill” that wrote “I will not tell lies” on his hand by cutting it. First an “I”. Then “Am.” the last word was longer, so I couldn’t read it as quickly.
Finally, “I AM KATHERINE” was engraved in my skin. Then, the girl’s voice came from the walkie-talkie again.
“Hello, Kieyra.”
“ABORT MISSION! ABORT MISSION! THIS CHICK’S A PSYCHO!” I heard the guys say.
Well, that mission was an epic failure. But at least we learned one thing:
Don’t bleep around in a tomb near a psycho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chapter Four PART TWO-Can't Keep Secrets Forever
Thanks for being patient!!!!! Here's the end of chapter 4!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What’s so special about that hole?” Mark Keith asked, coming towards the hole with glow sticks. “We’re not using the glow sticks, Mark. Miss save-the-animals says it’s wrong.” Sean said, glaring at me. “What do we care?” Mark cracked a purple glow stick and threw it down the hole. “NO! Guys, do you have any idea how much crap we’re in now?” I paced back and forth anxiously, going through worst-case-scenarios in my head.”What’s so bad about a little squirrel?” Sean asked, looking at me like I had four heads. “It’s not about the squirrels! It’s the people, or monsters, or whatever the heck they are!!” I freaked.
“People?” Sean asked. “What people?”
“Uh...” What could I say? Sean, there are evil vampires down there?
“...Really bad people who kill people when they’re upset?” I said, but it came out more like a question. I was getting into that panicky mode where I started saying things that I shouldn’t. “I mean, it’s not like there’s mythical creatures down there. Pfft, pfft...what vampire? I mean, it’s not like if you go down there you’re gonna turn into a vampire! Um...” The guys took a step back.
“Kieyra...Is there something you’re not telling us?” Ryan asked.
“We never mentioned vampires.” Mark added.
“Okay, well, I fell down that hole and, like, kinda died.” I said. The guys looked confused. Like, REALLY confused. “Which is basically implying that I’m undead, so...Yeah.” So yeah? Was that the best I could come up with? The guys stepped back, deciding whether or not they should run. I rolled my eyes. “I’m not gonna kill you!” I turned to Sean. “Even if I wanted to.” I added, speaking almost directly to him. “So what happens if one of us falls in the hole?” Chris asked, speaking for the first time today. “Well, you could either end up like me, be kept as a slave, or...”
“Or what?” Chris asked.
“Or you die.” Everyone was silent. “For example.” I ran back to the camp site, picked up Sylvie, and ran back to the hole. I dropped Sylvie and watched as she struggled painfully to get up.
“Hey Sylvie.” I said, smirking.
“Bye Sylvie.” I pushed her into the hole. The last thing I heard from her was her swearing and screaming before she hit the ground and was immediately silenced. The boys gasped. “See, she’s never coming back up.”

Chapter Four PART ONE-Can't Keep Secrets Forever

hey guys!!! i cant post the whole chapter cuz im not done yet but i'll finish soon!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A broken leg, a cracked wrist, and a slightly sprained ankle. At least, that’s what Damon Jensen said after he examined Sylvie. I couldn’t help but smile about this, thinking the world might finally be at peace.
Then I remembered Damien.
Damien was coming for me. He would most likely kill anyone who got in the way, and then he’d kill me. Then Nathen, Anna, Katie, Sarah, my mom and Dave. Then he’d go for my friends. Tegan, Sara, Emily, Roxy, maybe Sylvie if I was lucky. Then he’d go for my other family, Alexa, Mike, Aunt Margo, Melika, Mary, Kayli, Jay and Uncle Angus. Then my Aunt Lynn.
My Aunt Lynn and I had been close since I was a little kid and loved swimming in her pool and playing with her dogs. Once I was about 11, my Aunt and I had figured out that we were kind of alike; we both liked art, beading, and being, well, creative. We were like good friends (unlike my mom who clearly states “I’m not here to be your friend”). We always kept in touch, first through email, then through texting, and sometimes the occasional phone call. She knew almost everything about me.
Almost.
Everything except that I was a vampire, everything but the fact that I was born to be sacrificed.
Everything except that I was a doppelganger.
Which reminded me that I had to find out more about this Katerina character. Who was she? Where was she? If she died, would I die? Could I feel her pain? How much exactly did she look like me? I went over to Tegan (who was silently reading a book about Greek Mythology) and tapped her lightly on the shoulder. She jumped. “Geez, it’s like you appear out of nowhere.” oops. I had to remember that humans made more noise walking-well, at least more noise than the silent stride of a predator. “I have a mission for you.” I said. “What?” she asked, confused. “Do you have a G.P.S. app on your iPod?” I asked. “Yeah...why?” “I’m looking for an underground tomb in Fallowfield.” I said. “I need you to go talk to Travis Nixon about finding it. I’ve heard he’s somewhat of a nerd...he can probably figure out how to find places like that.” Tegan nodded and ran over to Travis, who then started lecturing Tegan on how rude it was to interrupt someone when they were in the middle of making a time fluxuator. Whatever that meant.
It was around 11 pm and it was finally getting to the point where everyone was actually worrying about what would happen to them and when they would get to go home again, or in Roxy’s case, when she would get back to her precious flat iron. Paul Mills, a rather scrawny boy in my class, came over to me. “We’re all worried. We need a leader. No one will listen to me, so come help me.” I followed Paul to a crowd of people that seemed to be growing more every second. “Um, excuse me!” I shouted, but no one heard. “Hello???” No response. “EVERYBODY, SHUT UP!!!!!!!”Paul yelled. It was suddenly silent. “Okay, well, I guess I’m being expected to give some amazing inspirational speech right now, but it’s never going to happen. We still have our camping stuff, though, right? We’ll go get our stuff, put up a tent, and worry about our lives in the morning.” everyone somewhat agreed and ran to the bus to get their stuff.
The next day, I was minding my own business (actually, stalking a squirrel deciding whether or not it’s a good idea to drink squirrel blood) when Tegan and Travis appeared behind me. “We have a location.” Tegan said. Just as Travis was about to explain, we heard a scream from one of the guys. Acting on instinct, I ran to see what was going on. Ryan was running to the campsite when I found him. “What happened?” I asked. “Sean Tanner found this HUGE hole in the ground! We’re gonna find glowing stuff to throw down there to see how far down it goes!!!” I just looked at Ryan, perplexed by the fact that a) guys always liked to do stupid things and b) they might have found the hole. Like, THE HOLE. The one with Damien.
I raced through the forest until I found the hole, and Sean, Chris, Matt, and Sam Dalton standing about a foot away from it. “Whoa, when did you get here?” Sam asked. “A few minutes ago...” I lied. “Hey, guys, I found some glow sticks!” Ryan said, running towards us and the hole. “That’s not a very good idea.” I said. “Why?” Ryan asked. “Because.”
“Because why?”
“Because, how would you like it if someone threw glow sticks in your house? I bet there’s a dozen chipmunks and rabbits down there that will be disturbed by your acts of unkindness. It’s morally repugnant.” I said. The boys looked at each other, as if to ask if anyone knew what ‘morally repugnant’ meant. “It’s bad. A big no-no.” I said, as if I were speaking to a bunch of kindergartners. “Oh, that morally repugnant.” I rolled my eyes.
Chapter Three- Backstabber, Literally.
It was a week into my eighth grade school year and my class was on a bus to go to a campsite in Fallowfield for a camping trip. I was sitting next to one of my best friends, Tegan Levi. She was playing on the iPod Touch she had gotten for her birthday while I stared out of the bus window, deep in thought. “Why have you been so...down, lately?” she asked me. “I’m contemplating my existential dilemma.” I replied. “Human words, please.” she said. “I’m questioning my life. Why I’m alive, what my purpose in life is. You get the point.”
“Not really. What’s with you lately? At my birthday party you were happy and laughing and full of life. Now you’re just...kind of jumpy. And you don’t smile. You barely talk to us, you keep your distance from everyone, and you’re always deep in thought. What are you, a zombie?”
“Something like that.” I muttered.
“Well, you might want to cut it out before people start to notice. They’ll think you’re suicidal, you know? You’re kinda gloomy.” I shrugged and sat back in my seat. “Fine then. I will put on an act for the world and pretend like I am the same Kieyra Gordon who skips and laughs and ‘tra-la-la’s down the hallway every morning.” I rolled my eyes. “What’s the matter? What happened?”
“It’s hard to explain.” I replied.
“Try me.”
“Tegan , I don’t even understand it that well.”
“Has your Grandma been telling you witch stories again?”
“No, this isn’t about my Grandma, who by the way, is crazy. I told you, I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Whatever. Talk to me when you want to.” she turned her attention back to her iPod.
We heard a loud gasp from the bus driver followed by the bus swerving. I ran to the front of the bus. The bus driver was unconscious, and not breathing. “Does anyone here know how to drive a bus?” I asked. The tallest guy in my class, Ryan, came to the front of the bus. “My dad started teaching me how to drive in the grocery store parking lot. I can try.” I clicked the button on the bus driver Mr. McIntosh’s seat belt and pulled him into the empty seat behind him. The bus swerved again. “Ryan!” I shouted. “I said that my dad was teaching me, I never said I’d had many lessons!” I groaned. There was another sudden swerve and the bus was hurtling towards a steep ditch at the side of the road. I felt the bus jerk forward down the hill. “Everyone, hold on to your seats! Ryan, find the brake!”
“I’m trying!” he panicked. The bus ran over a bunch of bushes. Tree branches were hitting the front windshield. Finally, the bus crashed into a large oak tree. “Found the brake.” Ryan said. I rolled my eyes. “Everybody, don’t panic . There’s a radio.” I took the radio out from it’s case at the front of the bus and it fell apart in my hands. “Or not. Okay, now we can panic.” Everyone started screaming their heads off as they ran out the emergency back door of the bus. Tegan came to the front of the bus with my friends Sara and Emily. “What happened to the bus driver?” Sara asked. I checked Mr. McIntosh for a pulse. “He’s kind of dead.” I declared. “Where’s the teacher?” Emily asked. I scanned the bus for anyone left inside besides me and my friends. There Mrs. Stewart was, of course, asleep in a bus seat with a book open beside her (And she was snoring very loudly, I might add). We ditched the teacher and went outside. The boys in my class were running around like idiots while the girls in my class were waving their cell phones in the air looking for reception. It took me only seconds to figure out where we were. We were at the same campsite that I was at when I found the hole. I ran into the forest until I was so far away that I couldn’t see anyone except Tegan, who had followed me. “Kieyra, what’s wrong?” Tegan asked. “Nothing. I just have bad memories from this place.” I said. “Do you want a hug?” she asked. I nodded my head. She came closer to me and hugged me.
I felt a sudden sharp pain in my back followed by searing pain washing through my body. As I dropped to the ground I saw Tegan holding a dart filled with liquid vervain. “I had to know.” the words that came out of her mouth were harsh, burning with betrayal. I tried to say something, but all that came out was gasping and choking. I couldn’t see anymore and finally I fell unconscious.
When I opened my eyes, I was tied up to a tree. I tried to break free, but I was still weak and it just hurt more.
Tegan appeared from behind a tree. “How could you?” I rasped, my voice weak from the vervain. “What are you?” she demanded. “You already know. If you didn’t you wouldn’t have done this.” She shook her head. “I don’t believe it. I need you to tell me. What are you?”
“I’m a vampire.”
She stepped back. “But you already knew that. Why else would you have had a vervain dart? By the way, where did you get that?”
“A few days ago, I visited your dad in Clayton. I told him that I suspected someone I knew was a vampire. He told me to stab them with a vervain dart, and if it hurt them they were vampires.” I sighed. “This is why I can’t trust anybody.” I said. “I trusted you.” She said. “I trusted you to tell me the truth. Best friends don’t have secrets.”
“You’re right, best friends don’t have secrets.”
“Then tell me exactly what happened this summer.” I sighed.
“Where should I start?”
“The beginning, after my birthday party.”
“Then get comfortable, Tegan. You’re gonna be sitting here for awhile unless you untie these ropes.” She went behind the tree and untied the ropes. After about five minutes-and yes, that’s how long it took my best friend to untie her own knots-the ropes fell off of me loosely and I stood up carefully. We began to walk around in the forest. I explained to her everything that happened on the camping trip. I told her how I was held captive by an evil mad man named Damien and his minions Lukas and Antoine, I told her about the innocent looking Ana and Ophelia, I told her about the little girl, Elena, and I even told her about Alec, the sweet vampire boy who had saved me. And then I told her about Katerina.
“So, I’m confused. What’s a doppelganger?”
“Pretty much an exact double of someone.” I explained.
“Does that mean, you’re like, this Katerina girl’s clone?”
“No. It means we pretty much look exactly alike. We think differently, though. Our brains aren’t the same. And sure as heck we’re not the same. I want you to remember something, Tegan. I am not Katerina. I never was and I never will be. I don’t know her, but from what I’ve heard she’s kind of psycho. I’d stay away from her if I were you.”
“How will I know it’s her?”
“Don’t be worried about that now. I heard she’s locked up in a tomb somewhere around here. But if she ever gets out I swear to god don’t invite her into your house.” Tegan nodded.
“DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just found a dead squirrel. Let’s go poke it with a stick!” I heard Matt White scream. Matt is the most disgusting, immature guy in the entire eighth grade. I swear, once I was passing the boys change room to go get a drink of water from the water fountain, and I heard him , Ryan, and Chris (the OTHER most immature guy in my class) having an armpit farting competition (at least I THINK they were using their armpits). “Hello! Hannah? Did you get my text! Monica! Can you hear me?” These more girly screams were coming from Hannah West talking to her friends Hannah Kingston and Monica Taylor, the “Pretty Athletic Girls” in my class. I think Sylvie French, a girl who was more Tegan’s friend than mine, was climbing up a tree, threatening further injury upon her broken arm. Suddenly, a crow swooped down, knocking Sylvie off balance. She screamed and fell, catching her cast in between two big branches. Her cast was so stuck that she was just dangling from the tree. There were leaves and pine needles tangled in her auburn hair, and her shirt was covered in some sort of tree fungus. There was also weird black stiff lodged in her cast and socks. “Somebody help me!” she screamed. I gave her a look that said “I could, but since you talk smack about my friends behind my back and tell me not to listen to your conversations with Rachel that people on the moon could hear, I think I’ll leave you hanging up there in a tree.” “I’ll help you!” Damon Jensen, a.k.a. chicken butt, ran as fast as he could to the tree. He tried to pull Sylvie down, but all he managed to do was pull off both her shoes. I know I should feel completely bad about this, but i-the only person out of 25- was smiling, mouthing “karma” to her in a snarky way. Sylvie screamed and called me a series of cuss words that could get even the president of the united states banned from his own country. “Ditto.” I replied calmly, still smirking. The crow flew back and started pecking at Sylvie’s hand- the one attached to the broken arm. “Ow! Stupid bird! Go away!” secretly, I was cheering “Go bird! Go bird!” but I wasn’t about to say that in front of Tegan, who was desperately trying to get to Sylvie to help her. “Kieyra, let go of my arm!” Tegan yelled. “Tegan, she’s not worth it. She calls Roxy a poser behind her back, says, that Roxy’s boyfriend is scared of her and thinks she’s creepy, and then is totally hypocritical when she asks Roxy why she’s mad at her.”
“So?”
“She also steals my Oreo’s at snack time.”
“Oh, well, that’s crossing the line.” Tegan picked up a stick and started hitting Sylvie with it. “Ow, Tegan, what the heck?”
“You never steal another girl’s Oreo’s!!!!” Ryan came running through the crowd that had gathered around Sylvie with the bus’ emergency axe. He chopped the branches around her arm and she fell to the ground with a loud thud. I heard one of her other bones breaking with my highly developed sense of hearing. “Ow! Kieyra, this is all your fault, you-” at this point, she let loose about a dozen swear words I’d never heard before, and some weird ones like “Stephen Harper’s nipple!” or “Obama’s armpit!”. I rolled my eyes at the ugly mess that was Sylvie Pascal French and skipped off into the forest as if I’d just won the lottery. Somehow, I got satisfaction from Sylvie’s pain. The crow circled around me before landing on the ground. Then, suddenly, the bird transformed into Alec. “Huh?” he saw the confused look on my face and laughed. “We can all turn into animals, even you. But you only get to choose one animal, so choose wisely.” he smiled. Then, of course, he disappeared.
Chapter Two- Run Like Hell (and yes, i have a poetic license to write hell. i just cant say it under my moms roof)
Chapter two!!!!!! back by unpopular demand!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The light that streamed in through the small window stung my eyes as they fluttered open. Elena was curled up in a ball in the corner. Alec was standing at the gate, holding a bottle filled with a dark red liquid. He tossed the bottle to me through the iron bars. “Drink up, kid.” he said. I then realized what was going on. I was becoming a vampire. If I drank blood, I would complete the transformation. I needed to make a plan. I had to get me and Elena out of there. I went over to Elena. “Elena.” I shook her awake. “What?”
“Elena, I have a plan to get us out of here.”
“What is it?”
“I’m gonna drink that, and I’m gonna turn into a vampire. Then I’m gonna break open the bars, and you’re gonna get on my back.”
“Then what?”
“Then we’re gonna run like hell.” Elena nodded. I walked over to the bottle and unscrewed the lid. As I drank it, Alec left and Lukas came in to take his shift. Lukas slid an old fashioned ring through the bars. I put it on. “It’s charmed so you can walk in the sunlight.” he said. How much stupider could these people get? They were only HELPING me! As soon as Lukas left, I ran with as much force as I could into the gate. The door fell to the ground with a loud “BANG”. “Now!” I screamed. Elena jumped on my back and I started running. I ran into something hard and nearly fell down. Alec stood in front of us. Elena hopped off of my back and clung to my arm. “Relax, I’m trying to help you!” He took my other arm and led me through a dark tunnel. We stopped in the middle of a village and Alec took out a long rope with a hook attached to the end. He threw it up . We looked up as it went through the hole in the dirt ceiling of the village and stuck into the earth above us. “Take Elena and climb up the rope. When you get there, pull it up. I’ll distract Damien.”
“How do I know I can trust you?” I asked.
“Please, just trust me. I’ve hated Damien since the moment he recruited me, and I’ve only followed his orders because if I don’t he’ll kill me.” I nodded and gestured for Elena to jump onto my back.
I climbed up the rope as fast as I could and when we got to the top I pulled myself onto the solid ground. Elena got up and looked around. It was dark, as if only seconds had passed since I fell into the hole. “I can see my cabin from here. Thank you, Kieyra!” she said. A tall boy came out from the darkness. “Elena? Is that you?” he called. “Drake!” Elena ran to the boy and hugged him. I followed. “Kieyra! This is my brother Drake. Drake, this is Kieyra. She saved me.” Elena said. “Um, hi.” I said shyly. “Thank you for finding my sister. If you ever need anything, we live just down that path over there.”
“No problem.” I said. I hurried back to the campsite. I heard my name being called and saw a flashlight. I ran towards it. “Kieyra! Like, holy crap, we were looking, like, freaking everywhere for you! Where were you?!” Have you ever had a family member who never shuts up and just the sound of their voice makes you want to scream? Well for me, that was Sarah Wilkins, Dave’s eldest daughter. “Um, I got lost. Sorry.” I replied nonchalantly. I walked back to my tent, lied down in my sleeping bag, and drifted off to sleep.
The next day I woke up in a wooden cabin. I was tied up on a bed and my body ached. “Ow.” whispered to myself. “Vervain hurts, doesn’t it?” I heard Anna’s voice nearby. Dave walked in. “Oh, thank god it’s you. I think Anna tied me up, and-”
“No, stupid girl, I tied you up.” he said. “I told you there was something different about her.” Katie came in. “Let me go!” I shrieked. “Who turned you?” Dave demanded. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I replied. Dave put on latex gloves and walked out of the room. He came back in with a strange plant. “Vervain...” he started. ‘It’s supposedly harmful to vampires. I wonder if that’s really true. Only one way to find out.” he stroked the plant across my face. I screamed out in pain as it burned my face. “Now, I’m gonna ask you this once more. WHO TURNED YOU?”
“Damien, Damien from the hole.”
“When did this happen?”
“Last night, I fell into the hole while I was looking for kindling.”
“Now, what do you know about Katerina Petrova?”
“Nothing, I know nothing.”
“You’re lying.” Dave growled.
“No, I’m not, I swear! I don’t know anything. All I know is that everyone keeps thinking that I’m somehow linked to this Katerina person and something about a prophecy or curse or something and something about a doppelganger.” Dave started to untie me. “Listen, Kieyra. I don’t know why the heck you look like Katerina, all I know is that you do. That’s it, end of story. I’m very sorry I had to do this and it will never happen again. I only wish you could forget it.”
After that, Dave took me back and explained that we all went on an early morning hike and didn’t want to wake her. This was followed by a disgusting old people kiss, which me, Nathen, and Anna cringed at.
A few days later, I was walking on the trails at Gunner Park, the biggest park in Almonte, Ontario that has trails leading all the way up to the Esso Gas Station, which is basically at the end of the town. Someone tapped my shoulder, and I reacted by turning around at lightning speed and pinning them to a tree by their neck. “Kieyra! It’s me, Alec!” I loosened my grip. “Oh, you finally decided to learn my name, did you?” I snapped. “Will you stop making snarky comments whenever I try to help you?” I released his neck and stepped back a bit. “Sorry.” I muttered. “Listen, this is really important. Damien is coming for you.” my eyes widened. “He won’t take you without putting up a fight, though.”
“You’re basically implying that I have to fight Damien and win.” Alec nodded. “How am I supposed to do that?” I asked. “You’ll need to train people to help you. An army of vampire hunters.”
“And how do you suppose I do that!” I shrieked.
“Trick them. It’s pretty simple, actually, with humans. A), you could compel them to do your bidding, B), you could tell them that people are coming for them and that they’re vampires and so are you, or C), you could trick them into thinking that they are doing ‘fun fake war activities’ so that when Damien and his army of dirt bags come for you they know how to defend themselves. Take your pick.”
“When are they coming?”
“I’m not sure yet. I’ll tell you when I know, though.”
“What do they want with me, Alec?” he sighed.
“A few hundred years ago, there was a girl who stumbled upon our little world. Her name was Katerina. She was a vampire. She had a girl with her, though. Her name was Isobel. Isobel was a witch. Damien recruited Katerina and Isobel as slaves for him. One day, Katerina tried to escape. Damien was displeased and threatened to kill her. That’s when Isobel created the curse.”
“What curse?”
“That unless Damien died, in the year 2011 when the sun is at it’s brightest, Damien and everyone who served him at the time would turn to ashes, and if Katerina died, Damien would die alongside her. But with every great curse, there’s a reverse. In order to break the spell they needed a lapis lazuli stone, the blood of the storyteller’s family, the blood of a witch, and the sacrifice of Katerina’s doppelganger, the Petrova doppelganger. That would be you, we think.”
“So, I have to kill Damien?” Alec nodded.
“So, what does this mean? I was born to die?” I was holding back major floods of tears.
“Not if Damien dies or gets a hold of you.” he said reassuringly.
And then he was gone.
Chapter One-Little Katerina (The Hole)
okay so here's the first chapter of my story- hope you like :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lots of teenage girls dream about vampires, more than anything else in the world. Being a vampire, dating a vampire, being friends with a vampire, or even knowing a vampire for that matter are all things that appeal to them. Most of them grow up wanting to marry Edward Cullen, the creepy brooding vampire from “Twilight”. I think I should start off by telling you, well, I’m not exactly like most girls my age.

For example, most little girls grow up pretending to be a princess and claiming Justin Bieber as their “FiancĂ©”. I grew up pretending to be Hermione Granger from “Harry Potter”, running around in a pathetic excuse for a cape, wanting to turn Lord Voldemort good and be “BFFs” with Draco Malfoy.

Yeah, Draco Malfoy.

But let’s not talk about me. Let’s not talk about the fact that I was born on October 31st, 1997, or the fact that my name is Kieyra Mary Lynn Gordon, and especially not the fact that I have an eight year old brother named Nathen, who loves to mock me every chance he can get. Let’s not talk about me, because a), this story is NOT about me, and b), this story is about a hole I found at a campground outside of Carleton Place, Ontario on September 4th, 2010.

It was the day before we were packing up to go home from the campground. I was there with my mom, Nathen, my mom’s boyfriend Dave, and Dave’s three daughters Sarah, Anna, and Katie. Dave had suggested a end-of-trip bonfire -which was followed by a groan from Sarah, who then said “I’m seventeen, camping’s stupid, bonfire’s are stupid” and stormed off into her tent- and asked me and Nathen to go look for twigs for kindling. “Kieyra, I’m scared.” Nathen had said, clinging to my arm. The sun was going down and the sky was glowing a brilliant amber. It would have been beautiful, except there was a fog in the forest so thick you could cut a hole in it. We heard a crow caw. Nathen screamed, clinging on to my arm tighter. “Let’s just go.” I had said, but Nathen shook his head. “Dave said he’d give me 25 cents for every stick I collected.” One thing about Nathen is that...well...he’s obsessed with having money. I’d say that’s a bad thing, for an 8 year old to love having money, but he’s a REALLY good saver. Unlike me, who spends her money the moment she gets it. We kept walking. The crow cawed again, circling above our heads. “Kieyra, I saw this on a TV show once. The guy never came back.” Nathen whimpered. “That’s not gonna happen.” I assured, but I wasn’t sure. All I knew was that I had a really bad feeling. I saw a clearing in the fog, and we walked towards it. The crow circled around the clearing. There was no fog here, and no trees but the ones that made a border around this clearing.

Right in the middle was a hole.

The hole was probably three meters in diameter, but maybe a bit more. There was no way of telling how deep it was; after about three feet down it was just darkness. The crow landed on a tree branch, cawing at us. Nathen whimpered and ran back to the campsite. I walked closer to the mysterious hole. The crow came down and started pecking at my head. I tried to run away, but with my horrible luck, I fell right into the hole.

I know what you’re thinking. If I fell into a deep hole, how am I telling this to you? Am I a ghost? Sadly, no. If I was a ghost, this wouldn’t be The Hole. It would be a CBS series called Ghost Whisperer. And since that already exists, this is THE HOLE!

Anyways, I was falling for about five minutes before I fell on my side, crushing my right arm. Two ominous figures approached me. One had jet black hair and creepy snake-like green eyes, and the other was very pale, with blond hair and golden eyes. They both wore black cloaks, and old fashioned black shoes. “What should we do with her, Antoine?” the blonde one asked. “We should take her to Damien. Isn’t that what Felix said, Lukas? Or was it bring the outsiders to Ophelia...”Lukas rolled his eyes. “Just shut up and take the kid to Damien.”Lukas snapped. They picked me up (which hurt my arm A LOT!) And took me into a castle. We stopped and a young boy and girl approached us. The boy had dark brown hair and blue eyes, while the girl had very pale blond hair and brown eyes that looked sort of red. “Alec, watch the human girl. Ana, Ophelia requires your services.” Lukas instructed. The girl nodded and went through a deep red door, and the boy, Alec, brought me to a dungeon of some sort. “Ouch!” I screamed when he squeeze my wrist. “What is it?” he asked, releasing my right arm. “I think it’s broken. Like, a lot.” I replied. “When does it hurt?” he asked. “I don’t know, it hurts when it hurts!” I snapped. “Okay, okay.” he pushed me into a dungeon cell. “ I thought you were nice.” I said. “Just following orders.” he said apologetically. I crawled into the corner and started to cry when I heard a soft whimper from the other side of the cell. “Is someone there?” I asked. A girl who looked like she was a few years younger than me came out from the shadows. Her wispy light brown hair fell halfway down her back, and her sad blue eyes looked wearily at me. “Who are you?” I asked. “E-e-elena. Elena Smith.” she replied. “Where are you from?”
“I’m from Ottawa, Ontario.”
“How did you get here, Elena?”
“I fell down a hole. Where I landed, the people were nice. They took care of me. But Damien came looking for me and locked me up here.”
“Who is Damien?”
“The ruler of this place, apparently. He basically runs this place with his minions Lukas, Antoine, Felix, Ana, Ophelia, and Alec. Alec is the nice one. He treats us well, but follows Damien’s orders because he’s scared of him.”Elena explained.
“Who’s ‘us’? Are there more people here?”
“Yeah, but not many. Most of them got killed. They’re looking for someone to fulfill some sort of prophecy.”
“What prophecy?”
“My Aunt Lisa told me about it once. I’m not sure what it’s all about, but all I know is that they need someone from the bloodline of the storyteller, the blood of a witch, the lapis lazuli gemstone, and the sacrifice of the vampire Petrova doppelganger.”
“Petrova? Where have I heard that name before?”
“Maybe you read one of my aunt’s books. There’s a TV show based on it.” Elena shrugged.
“Elena Smith.” I said to myself. “Wait- is your Aunt Lisa L.J. Smith?” Elena nodded. I started laughing. “What’s so funny?” she asked. “These guys have absolutely no clue, do they? They think it’s real! They think The Vampire Diaries is REAL!!!!!!!!!!!! They want Katerina Petrova, the vampire in the show. She’s a doppelganger, right?” I was still laughing. “But it IS real! Well, the part about Katherine is, anyways. You see, Aunt Lisa met this girl named Katerina Petrova once, who told her all about what happened to her in Bulgaria or something. She based a character in her book on her. She never meant for it to go this far, though.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, when CW decided to make Aunt Lisa’s book into a TV show, they said a vampire from Renaissance Italy wouldn’t be that interesting. So they made her a young vampire from Bulgaria. So now Katherine’s character is more like real life Katherine, which puts my aunt in deep doo-doo.” I crawled up against the wall and accidentally banged my broken arm on the cement floor. I screamed in pain. “What’s wrong?” Elena asked. “My arm.” I moaned. “Here, let me help you.” she put her hands on my broken arm and it started glowing blue. “Am I hallucinating? Yeah, that’s it. I’m probably crazy.” Elena laughed. My arm didn’t hurt anymore. As she removed her hands, I twisted my arm from left to right, the sharp pains I had felt before gone. “What the-”
“I’m a healer.” Elena said.
“What?”
“A healer. When I came in through the hole, one of the villagers found me and took me to some sort of witchcraft power-giving ritual. I got the power of healing people.” I heard the creaky door to the dungeon slam. “What do you mean, there’s another doppelganger! The bloodline ended with Katerina, and we have her locked up in the Fallowfield tomb. There is no one else. If we kill Katerina, I die. If Katerina lives, we all die. There’s just no point in waiting anymore!” shouted a guy with a British accent. “Apparently not. This girl- she looks a lot like Katerina, except younger.” said Antoine. “Damien.” Elena whispered, hiding her face in her skirt. “Be quiet, child.” Damien snapped. “Now where is this Little Katerina?” He asked. “In with the child, sir.” The gate opened and a cold hand grabbed my arm and pulled me out to face Damien. He had jet black hair and crimson eyes, and his skin was paler than an albino kid. “Who are you, Little Katerina?” “K-K-Kieyra, Kieyra Gordon.” I stuttered. “I prefer ‘Little Katerina’.” he replied, stroking his chin. “Do you know why you’re here, Little Katerina?”
“N-N-No.” I quivered.
“Do you understand why I am referring to you as ‘Little Katerina’, Little Katerina?”
“Something about a Katerina Petrova.” I replied. Damien smiled and chuckled.
“Yes, Little Katerina, something about Katerina Petrova. You see, Katerina wouldn’t cooperate with us while we were trying to break the curse and fulfill the prophecy. She had a witch who made it so that if she died, her killer would die too. She could no longer be sacrificed. But you, my darling Little Katerina, would be perfect to fill her position. That is, if you are the true Petrova doppelganger.” Antoine cut my arm with his nails. Damien touched it and put my blood to his lips. “Yes, you’re definitely of the Petrova family, Little Katerina.” He said, a smile on his face. He bit his arm, piercing his skin, and shoved his bloody arm in my mouth, forcing me to either drown in his blood or drink it. Antoine laughed as I moaned.

The world turned black as I heard the sickening crack of my neck breaking.

Kira, in a nutshell (speaking from a completely unrelated third party's point of view)

Kira Bobby Moustache
born on Halloween umpteen years ago
Kira is possibly the most shallowly deep person you will ever meet. (Definition: she can be very shallow at times but can also be deep at the same time. EXAMPLE "you really sucked today, but I mean that with the most sypmathy possible.")She is also kind of stupid, clumsy, clever, and has a constant need to be right. She can often be selfish, and usually puts herself before everyone else. But besides her flaws, there is a tiny bit of potential in her. She loves to write and is currently working on the following titles: the most annoying guy I've ever met, Not Another Vampire Love Story(which is being developed into a series), The Secret Sisters Society, The Hole, Know, The Junks, The Book Of Dreams, It's Too Complicated To Explain(a Vampire Diaries Fan Fiction story), and a few more that this third party can't seem to remember. As far as celebrity idols go, hers might include Hayley Williams and Nina Dobrev. As for celebrity crushes... Dylan Sprouse and Ian Somerhalder might fill that spot. Her favourite music artists are Paramore, The All-American Rejects, We The Kings, Green Day, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and many more people not worth mentioning. Her favourite countries are Italy, Bulgaria, and England. She wishes to one day go to Atlanta, Georgia for no apparent reason whatsoever. Her favourite tv shows are The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, and Glee. Her favourite movies are Vampires Suck, The Parent Trap(the one with Lindsay Lohan), The Prince and The Pauper(the 2007 remake with the Sprouse brothers),Harry Potter(Years 1-7.5), and School Of Rock. She hates British soap operas-well, pretty much any soap operas unless they're teen-related. Things she wants to do but hasn't gotten around to are watching LOST episodes, watching The American Mall, watch Flight 29 Down episodes, and finding that one Ghost Whisperer episode that Hillary Duff was in. Something most people don't know about her is that she secretly wants to be an actress. Shh! Don't tell! Don't tell anyone that Kira Bobby Moustache loves to write, sing and act!!!! She knows that this secret wish will never come true and wishes that no one takes pity on this poor little Canadian girl!!! I've said too much!!!!

Yours Truly,
Freda Livery

and don't be fooled by the fact that freda livery sounds like free delivery!! It's not fake...I'm not kira...he he...
